Nozzles in cleaning systems
Ceramic components in sewer cleaning systems guarantee perfect function with a precisely targeted jet.
As the flow rate of the sewage is not sufficient to wash away deposited solids in drains, effective cleaning is performed mechanically under high pressure (250 bar) using a powerful water jet. This jet is extremely powerful and vicious and destroys steel nozzles in a very short time. In contrast, tough ceramics are not subject to wear through high water pressure nor abrasive foreign particles.
In addition, the freedom of design given by the injection molding technique allows the integration of a hex, thread and internal flow rails in a single molding step. The reduction from originally four elements down to a single element reduces the costs of the assembly considerably.

Ceramic collet chucks
The high level of flexibility and the good insulation behavior of zirconium oxide has a very positive effect for ceramic collet chucks.
Friction welding is a pressure welding process, where heating of the firmly clamped parts to be joined, is performed through mechanical friction. In this specific application, the elements to be welded are clamped with collet chucks made of zirconium oxide. The excellent insulating properties of the ceramic ensure the required heat at the point of application. The flexibility of the material allows the application of high mechanical pressure.
